She said that she was a teacher previously, however, she is not well spoken and doesn't even seem even "somewhat intellegent." She once asked Janelle if Minnesota was a state. I guess I just don't believe she can pass for a college graduate. She said that she earns more money as a waitress. That may be possible, however, most teachers that I know do earn a pretty good living, but more importatly, they just want to teach. It is something inside them. I find it hard to believe that someone would spend their time and money for a college education and walk away from it for tips. HMMMMM??????????????
Just a thought. Not that anyone on the nerd herd would lie or anything.

Ivette is so DUMB! I do not think she even went to college. I am shocked that Ivette said Holly from BB5 was her favorite when Holly is more worser than Janelle. Ivette is more dumb than Janelle and Holly. Sorry! But it is true

I don't think anyone will ever argue that Ivette is an idiot. I just think if she is going to make up a lie it should be one that she could possibly get away with. Being a teacher takes a college education, and she just cannot pull it off.

Ivette is so NOT a teacher! We all know that! She really can't lie very well

The only college ivette could graduate from is clown college. There is no way she was a teacher, if so, she was probably fired for her bad attitude.

on the feeds one day Ivette said she was the first and only person to go to college and graduate. They were talking about health insurance and how she was covered when she was a student but she isn't now. Maybe shes lieing; who knows.

She has to be lying. Just listen to her. Just watch her. She is not someone who has a college education. If she does......... that is one college that should be shut down.

If Ivette is a teacher then I am the Pope. I sure wouldn't want her to teach my kids.:P:P:P
Just because you have a college education doesn't mean you have common sense. Or in her case, manners.

:D The other night April told Maggie she couldn't believe Ivette had a teaching degree. Maggie shushed her of course. So we aren't the only disbelievers.

I agree with the comment about, "just because you have a college education...." I'm a student working on my masters and trust me, I've met a lot of fellow students who barely scraped by in school by either cheating, or buying false papers. Also, I have a cousin who proudly graduated with a D- gpa, so not all universities have high standards. Mine requires a C gpa, but my particular division requires nothing lower than a B.
btw, when I first heard Ivette say she was a teacher, I assumed she meant for pre-school or head start since those do not require teaching credentials. I can only assume that whatever university she went to, they didn't have high standards.

Nobody would never Ivette as a Teacher preschool though 12 grade including college. She is too mean!

If I had a child, I certainly would not allow someone like Ivette to even change my kids diapers. But I do know that many who are working for the head start/preschool programs tend to call themselves "teachers" even though this type of job does not require any level of education, which is why I wrongly assumed that Ivette must teach at this lower level since the K-12 requires a credential. Seeing the posts that mentioned her claiming to be college educated, now I'm sure she must have barely skitting through school! :D

Here's a link that will elaborate on ivette's education. I'd also like to point out that A) I know plenty of people who gave up teaching for better paying jobs. Here in the US it's not uncommon for teachers to be unhappy with their earning potential. In many parts of the country there is a serious shortage of teachers because the pay is so bad. B) In a place like Miami Beach I'm sure there are so very lucrative waitressing jobs. I used to make 2 to 3 hundred dollars a day waiting tables, certainly more than any teacher I know k-12 or lower. I'd also like to point out there's nothing common about sense. If anything, I've found sense to be quite uncommon these days
That having been said please bear in mind that Who's Who Among American High School Students lists those students in the top 5% of graduating classes for the entire country. I can tell you firsthand, it's an honor to be included on that list.

Ivette Corredero is the first student to receive the Association of Women in Communications (AWC) Susan E. Sachs Scholarship. Ivette, 22, is a communications arts major at St. Thomas University. A graduate of South Miami Senior High School, where she was included in the prestigious "Who's Who Among American High School Students," Ivette's goal after graduation is to work her way up in the world of broadcasting to become a TV news anchor. Her college years have been a busy time for Ivette. In addition to her full-time studies, she has a full-time job at the Nexxt Caf?© in South Beach in order to contribute to the family income and pay for her studies. She is also godmother to an eight-year old little girl who she cares for every day. Being a role model for her is "one of my main motivations," says Ivette. Recently diagnosed with diabetes, Ivette understands the challenge of pursuing a career while managing the physical limitations posed by illness.
I know in Jersey, you don't need to major in anything to become a teacher, you just need a degree. Also, you can be a substitute teacher with an Associates Degree.
I can also tell you from first hand experiences, that my daughter has had a few teachers that were not fit to teach middle school. And after their evaluations, they were gone from our district. Miami might be a little more lax with their teaching standards. They have a lot of ESL students in their communities. English as a second language is a hard battle for a teacher. If she is fluent with the language, she could have been doing that for a school district. But as said in an earlier post, there is not much money in teaching, unless you're there for a long time, or become an administrator.
Let us not forget what her g/f Maggie said: "She opens her mouth before she thinks". That's her problem.

That's a different Ivette Corredero.

I still would not want her and her mouth to ever influence any of my kids.

She recently said something about teaching at a pre-school. So I'm not sure it was in a public school. I'm hoping that she spent her time babysitting, rather than attempting to mold young minds.
It's a scary thought. Not just because of her ignorance, but because of her foul mouth. Maybe they're one and the same, though.

With her as a teacher, this is what kids would learn: to start fights, to make racial remarks, to make fun of others' appearance, to use profanity whenever they feel like it, to cry when things don't go your way...etc, etc, etc.
