I was at the bookstore today and I came across this very disturbing book that was displayed near the entrance of the bookstore.

The name of the book is "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades)"

This book was at a major mainstream bookstore. This book seems to be available at major bookstores across the U.S. I'm just shocked that major retailers even have this book in stock for the general public.

Here are some links to major retailers that carry this book.

You stated nothing to reply to. What is your opinion about the book? Have you read it? Are you just shocked by its title? Are you the author looking for a free plug? Do you want to be thought of as more than just an alarmist? There are several books being sold out there that barely pass the nonsense test.

You really should state an opinion about the subject you're objecting to LOL :)

That book is a slam against the Islamic religion. It compares the Islamic religion with terrorists. It's basically a racist book that I don't think should be available at mainstream bookstores. That's why I was shocked when I saw the book located near the front entrance of the bookstore. Usually racists propaganda is not available at major retail stores.

You're judging a book by its cover. Believe me, I find the cover extremely questionable and I would not read it because of that design. The author chose that design at his own peril. However, I haven't read it so I can't offer an opinion about its contents. Can you?

Besides, you can find equally shocking anti-religious or political books of all stripes. You happened to find and post this one, here, in a Muslim discussion board. I won't presume to know why.

You have not said that you looked inside the book. Could it be that the title is not what it seems?

Just because I may disagree with an opinion does not mean I would not fight for the right to that opinion and the right to disagree with it.

You should read it and then put out your thoughts and discusse it.

I've read Mein Kampf and Augustine's City of God.

There is something to be said for reading books that seem deplorable. For one thing, books that excite revulsion are the canaries in the coalmine of free speech; in addition, if a work does need to be countered, it can better be done when you have actually read and understand the argument. Jumping up and down going "bad bad evil evil" might be good exercise, but is unlikely to persuade folks who've read a bit of the book and thought "that makes some sense."

ST*, who considers the best cure for poor speech is more speech!

It is called freedom. There are many anti religious books out there. Anti-Chistianity, Anti-Jewish etc. This is not a society like in the older days where certain books are burned or outlawed. Freedom. It is not my intention to offend anyone. I know nothing about the book or it's contents. It just seemed as it the starter of this thread thought maybe the book should be pulled from book stores or something.

Just to let everyone know, apparently the author is going to be on Neal Boortz's radio show this hour, if anyone is interested in the intent of his writing of the book. Actually he's on right now. Check your AM radio dial, and hear it from the horse's mouth.

Courageous author speaks out
As a former moslem who realized the innate threat of Islam to Human Rights and other religions, I found Robert Spenser's book (Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam and the Crusades) straigh forward. The author explains the controlling nature of Islam and it's ultimate goal to conquer the World by either peaceful manners or forcefully.
Skeptical unaffiliated, A reviewer, September 12, 2005,
Logical, straight from the source book
Apparently our leaders are still shamelessly mired in the same PC blindness that has already cost us dearly once. The author, thankfully, is not. Quoting directly from the Quran itself. And after you read this book go to the book itself. It's all there. One can hope the policy makers are actually reading what the terrorists are using to commit murder and war.
Also recommended: Infiltration, for more of the actual mess that our PC blinded goverment has us in still.

Brilliant
This book certainly changes our misconceptions regarding history and how things are connected. Although it is something that people are not used to hearing, it is necessary read, and has evidence to back up its claim. With the war on terror showing no signs of abating and as the terrorists strike all who are not in accord with their cause, this book not only provide an insight into the problem from a historical point of view, it also shows how easily Islam's distortion came about. This book changes many misconceptions. The idea of jihad is the centre of it all, something that ought to be criticized or rejected for the world to be at peace.

ok so I took these right off of the barnes and noble website.

Obviously I have not read the book, but Has anyone ever heard the expression" DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER"

"politically correct" usually means "what the government WANTS us to hear or know"
So politically in-correct only means; facts that the government has either hidden or neglected to make public.

I think the book is trying to educate us on the realitys of Islam. Islams teachings and Islams goals. He is not completely wrong it seems in the basis of his book. But I will definatly pick up the book and see what it has to say.

Not necessarily facts, but usually opinions...which in many cases are wrong. I'm sure the actual facts in the books are not the "politically incorrect" and controversial part; rather, it's the tone of the author and the "conclusions" he makes based on those facts.

One more book full of propaganda and sole purpose to spread hate towards Muslims and show Islam down.

The content is only based on opinions with wrong interpretations.

I was thinking to myself today, as much as the media wants to repeat Islam is an evil religion, I really think it makes people want to learn more about Islam on their own and find out if what they report is true and accurate. Once they do this research they are actually either converting or respecting the religion; especially when they look into the school of the ahlul-beit (family of the Prophet).

Sub7an'Allah.

In some odd way the media is doing us a favor. This is my weird way of accepting all this nonsense. lol ;)

David Kerish (waco), and jim jones (koolaid guy), Both of these guys "claimed" to be christians (they actually claimed to be much more then that .....). And if the books written about them where about "christians" instead of cults....well i think more people would be upset. I have not read the book by this guy, i have no idea what he is saying , but he may be quoting the terrorist agenda...that does not make it Islams. I however do have one question, was'nt it the crusaders who invaded the muslim countries? I dont think i have ever heard of the Muslim countries invading the west are am i wrong?
