View Full Version : Martha or "The Donald"? Who would you rather work for?

Putting the actual job activities aside (MSL v. real estate), who would you rather have as a boss and mentor, Martha or Donald?

I'm keeping my reply separate so not to influence people's decisions. I would much rather work for Martha. She may be tough but she's much more business/goal-oriented than ego-oriented.
Donald is all about having the biggest and the best because it's (as he sees it) a reflection on himself and just something more to brag about (I have the biggest, grandest, most ornate, most expensive--it gets old).
Martha seems more focused on the job because she enjoys the creative process and can admire the finished product for its uniqueness v. how it ranks among her competitors.
I think I could learn more from her in one week than 10 weeks with Donald Trump.

I would prefer working for Martha since I like the creative end of it.
Elizabeth,
Without giving spoilers since West Coast hasn't watched it, did you watch it tonight? I think it was very exciting.

Yes, saw it. Not very impressed with the candidates so far but didn't see much of them so maybe one or two will stand out as we see more.
But you are supposed to put the work activities aside when answering. Personality-wise, who do you think is the better boss?

Better boss-personality wise; that is a very hard choice. They both are equally very proud. They are also very no nonsense and don't like quitters and people who have poor managing skills. They both follow about the same principals.
Now the tasks, I don't want to say yet as it will give spoilers but yes I liked tonight's task. If I was there I would have been on the winning team since I would have given everything.

Well....Martha, because I love everything to do with home.
The Donald, because I have worked in real estate.

I figured most people would go w/ Martha b/c of her area of interest. That's why I was curious as far as which PERSONALITY you'd prefer in a boss, not what you would do.

I hope Kaysar partakes in this thread. He will probably say Donald but I want to see his response.

Martha..It seems to me she would be more hands on with you. She is seems more approachable than Donald. I also like working with women better then men.

Seriously though, I've read that Martha's a real...you know what to work for. And from what I can tell neither is the Donald.
May I please have another choice Elizabeth? I'm a hard worker, but I scare. :D

I'm really impressed with her. She's a very controlled woman without being over-the-top.
And I can tell you, if I had known the stock was going to tank, I wouldn't be sitting on it. ;)

I would definitely take the Donald! Martha is supposed to be a real &%^%& and she has pulled some grand stunts on people. The Donald is the Donald but overall is a decent man.

I think that's why I like her so much. I love working for the really difficult ones because they're so hard to please, you have to kill yourself to try to earn their respect.
And they're the only ones I respect.
If you were on my team Deb, I'd throw you right into the lion's den. Only way to survive is to fight for your life.
You'd hate me but when all was said and done, you wouldn't be afraid any more. ;)

That's what I do everyday...I'm so tired. I work for family...it's insane. There is no such think as slack.

She has talked about the way she was. During the trial she found out how people really felt about her, and she said she was shocked. I have been watching her day show, and she seems to be really trying to be more in tuned with how people perceive her, and is working on being a better person. Love Martha.
I agree w/ you Elizabeth. Respect is very important when working with someone. It HAS to go both ways.

Yes,, Martha is a real you know what to work for. Donals seems like he does cut some slack once you are in from what I heard.
But I prefer women bosses. So I would rather work for Martha.

I second that...Martha erks me. I love the area of interest, but her as a person, not really. Plus, Donald is too arrogant. Neither, I would rather be self-employed, but I like the concept of the show. Firing people, always a hoot to watch. ~Jenna~

Neither, thanks. They are both overbearing, power mongers. I would rather collect my food stamps and work the local street corner.

People in power are generally thought to be ruthless and difficult. But it's not crowded at the top. It takes a certain amount of skill and fortitude to get up there and stay up there.
To paraphrase Martha, "I don't have time for quitters and cry babies." Ha, ha. Love her.

Nothing against any Martha Stewart fans, but I would much rather work for Donald Trump. She drives me nuts!

Definitely Martha. She may be the exact opposite of me.... but I think she'd have a lot to teach me... I've always been into interior design and crafts and stuff like that.... so I could learn so much from that woman.

He stated that in someone's blog one time while he was filming and I thought that was a very tacky remark. I have a college education, but I have never in my life scorned anyone for not having one. There are a lot of people very intelligent who never had a formal college education and who are doing well.

I also prefer working for Martha. I know I can learn from her. What type of crafts do you do? I enjoy jewelry making (I am not close to what Kabbalist does though), cross stitch, needlepoint, crochet, knitting, and other types of crafts.

Lol...I TOTALLY agree! After her one Halloween show people had gone to her house trick or treating and she put a very steamy cauldron out to more or less chase everyone away. One little girl was persistant to get something and when she came out she yelled at the little girl and told her she does Halloween on the show and she does not want to see anyone at her door looking for anything. She apparently was yelling and the little girl ran off crying back to her mother.

Yes, I heard that today. His other children from Ivana Trump are all grown. Milania is much younger than him and does not have children other than the one that is coming.
